629.0. "My Girl 2" by NETRIX::michaud (Home Alone) Sun Sep 04 1994 16:18

	This is the sequel to "My Girl" with Dan Aykroyd, Jammie Lee Curtis and
	Anna Chlumsky repriving their roles.  Austin O'Brien, Richard Masur,
	and Christine Ebersol join the cast as Vada's almost cousin, Uncle,
	and her Uncle's live-in girlfriend.

	The Vada character is now 13, and Shelly (Jamie Lee) is now pregnant.
	In Vada's English class an assignment is given for each student to
	write a report on someone they have never met before.  Vada chooses
	her mother (who died when Vada was a baby).

	Shelly suggests Vada visit her Uncle in LA for Spring Break to do
	research on her mother (her mother grew up in LA).  There Vada
	searches out and talks to her mother's high school and college
	class-mates and an ex-lover .....

	While not as good as the first (and it wasn't because of McCauly
	Caulkin's absence :-), and certainly not as sad, it did have it's
	moments, and is worth a watch if you enjoyed the first one.

    I didn't bother seeing this as I hated the first one so much.

    Saw it today and agree with the basenote. It is a good movie for kids 
    around that age 12-15. Did not hate anywhere near as much as
    "Philadelphia". Fell asleep watching that one and cannot understand how
    Tom Hanks got an academy award for it. Anna Chlumly has a much better
    part in My Girl 2. She gets my vote over Hanks boring performance in
