596.4 | It was good... | UHUH::MARISON | Scott Marison | Mon Feb 13 1995 10:52 | 16 |
| Ok... I rented this movie on video last night. Actually, the name is
"Color of Night"... no "The" in the title.
I liked it. It kept me quessing as to who the killer was, it made my wife
jump a few times, and the sex scenes were very, um... well, sexual... ;-)
For those you care, it was a directors cut version, so I don't know if it's
in the original movie or not but you do get a quick glimpse of Bruce's... well,
let's just say you'll know if he's been circumsized or not. ;-)
I know this movie was panned by the critics, but I liked it. Maybe if I had
my brain turned on, I would have picked out a lot of problems with it, but
it was sunday night and no way am I gonna think about anything on Sunday
night...

596.5 | I can say I've seen it..:-} | USCTR1::SCHILTON | MRO3-1/E9, DTN 297-7558 | Wed Feb 22 1995 09:56 | 18 |
| I rented the video last night, didn't like the movie...it struck
me as a strange bunch of characters, strange twists 'n turns,
(although I recognized a character in disguise immediately),
and a lot of extreme behavior/personalities ... I'm sure the
average psychologist doesn't deal with this variety of weirdos!!
"Visually", though, I liked it. There's a big fancy house with a
view, nice cars, nice clothes, all the trappings of wealthy LA.
Bruce Willis is easy on the eyes, naked or clothed, Jane March is
pretty, and together, well, they...appear to enjoy themselves
..in a variety of places, even under-water. (I wonder how long
it took to film that one).
The one thing that struck me was the music...it didn't seem to
fit the emotion/activity on-screen. And the ending was different,,
that's for sure.

596.7 | Thumbs up | NETRIX::michaud | The Lover | Mon Mar 06 1995 22:18 | 14 |
| This movie surprised me too. After I thought most critics had
panned it and it was bascially a flop at the box office I
wasn't expecting much. However this one kept my attention
as a suspense thriller. I didn't guess any of the plot twists
in advance ......
I must of blinked however when they showed Bruce's penis,
so .-2 tell me, is he circumcised? Jane March appears to
of either grown up (and out) or has gotton implants since
the filming of "The Lover" (which I believe she was only 16 or
17 when it was filmed). The added 15 minutes of footage (I'm
guessing the sex scenes) was slightly steamy, but certainly
not as steamy as in "The Lover". Luckily the movie was good
on it's own.

| No one mentioned that acting of Rueben Blades...as great character
actor, who was in The Milagro Beanfield War and Odd Man Out (a great
film). Rueben made this film folks. Without him, it would have been
extremely boring. MHO.

| You're right, Scott...about Reuben Blades. And the whole
twist involving him and the older patient was great...how
they were connected
