595.0. "The King and Four Queens" by 36405::KEHOE (Mr. QuickPIC) Fri Jul 15 1994 15:54
I am looking to find out where I can dig up information on a
particular screenwriter from the 1950's. Is there a reference
book as such like for musicians? I'm looking for information
on Margaret Fitts.
In 1956 Clark Gable's 66th film was "The King and Four Queens"
based on a screenplay by Margaret Fitts and co-written (the
screen play) by Robert Simmons.
In this movie, Gable plays a character named "Dan Kehoe".
That's amusing to me since that's my name, as well as the fact
the movie was made the year I was born.
I am trying to find out WHY she chose to name the character
Dan Kehoe. Maybe it was an old boyfriend, etc. Maybe she
is still living or has a direct descendant who might know.
I have a copy of the movie. It's a blast hearing all these
movie stars say my name. The movie, by the way, is not so hot.
Can anyone point me in the direction of reference books or
someone who might know the answer to my question?
Thanks.
Dan Kehoe
(you can call me Clark...)
