    Dragon Chronicles (I) : The Maidens of Heavenly Mountain

    Main Chinese title (also from book) is "Tin Loong Pat Poh" (Eight
    Styles of the Heavenly Dragon)

    Remake of the movies (several before), of the TV series, etc.  The book
    is so famous that they keep on repeating.  Story covers 3 
    generations and hundreds of characters.

    DC (I)

    A great swordsman named Siu Yiu Chi suffered from a broken-heart (??!??) 
    and retreated to the Heavenly Mountain leaving his three fellow
    students - twins (Bridgette Lin) and Gong Li (China's superstar).
    They are all from the Tin Tan sect.

    The relationships gets confusing - The twins are in love with Siu! 
    Gong Li loved the good twin.  Siu has a soft spot for the good twin
    as well.  Figure this one out!

    To be the master of the martial arts world one has to undergo a test
    on a Go-board.  When a move is made, a battle-scene will happen and
    the candidate will either succed or get killed.

    Another student, Ting, formed the Sing Suk sect, in order to control
    the martial arts world.  Action are a-plenty (and gory) during the
    various take-over scenes including at the Shao-Lin temple.  Heads 	
    being ripped off and bodies exploding!  Swordsmen flying all over
    the screen.  Ting has a student called Purple (Cheung Man).

    In the between the film there were numerous battles amongst all the
    characters.  Gets confusing if one is not paying attention.  The
    scenes were both gripping and ridiculous.  You get a mixture of
    good kung-fu, sword-fighting, star-wars sabres, laser blasts, etc.
    But it is FUN!

    A junior monk who escape from the slaughter got mixed up in the plot
    and passed the entrance test.  Siu transferred his power.  But the
    monk did not know how to use the powers.  All of them combined to
    fight with Ting at the end.

    Apparently Dragon Chronicles (II) will star Jackie Chan whilst III
    will star comedy star Chow Sing Chi.
