Being a first timer here, I don't know if you have covered Dreams. This film, a collection of shorts, by Akira Kirosawa is not to be topped. I don't think you would complain about the pace for the scenery and the drama. Your mention of shorts and Japanese just reminded me. David

Ah yes, _Akira Kurosawa's Dreams_, the dream sequences themselves vary in story telling quality but the photography and visuals are terrific. It makes a really nice laserdisc both for the quality of the visuals and the ease of watching particular sequences. Moderator, your may want to move these replies to a topic of the above named film.
