| This has to be the scariest movie I have ever seen. I was twelve years
old when I first saw this in the theatres. I went with my cousin and
we walked there and ran all the way back. I still get the creeps and
think of this movie when I am walking at night.

I was a bit older than twelve, but I was jolly scared walking home from the
cinema after I saw Halloween. Also, I was sleeping in a ground-floor room at the
front of the house and a dog decided to get into the dustbins under my window
the same night.
eeeeeeeeeeeek.
Actually, the base note gets it in one: it's all done with the point-of-view
camera. The point of view alternates between that of Jason -- is he going to
find somebody? -- and a very scared view -- is something going to find you?. The
move uses minimum of traditional horror movie conventions (eg Jamie Leigh
Curtis' white stockings so you know she's the virginal good girl who'll survive)
so that you know where you are, and then just lets it roll.
Great stuff.

| There are several scenes throughout the movie where, if you look
closely, you'll notice the killer reflected in a window, standing off in
the shadows, etc. Seems like I notice a new one every time I watch
the movie.

Thanks for the correction. I used to know a Michael Myers who was a perfectly
nice chap, and I've never even seen Friday 13th, so I guess it was a Freudian
slip.
