Haven't heard anything about her as an adult. She was possibly the best child
actress ever, although she had a tendency to chew scenery. Her scenes in _Meet
Me in St Louis_ were especially memorable.

Have you tried Halliwell or one of the other standard references? I'm sure
there's a book about Hollywood child stars, but don't have the details to hand.
I'll check next time I'm in the right sort of place.

| According to Halliwell's Filmgoer's Companion, Margaret O'Brien carried on
making films into the fifties, but they were all flops. She has done a few
cameos since. I'm afraid I forgot to check whether she is still alive, but I
don't remember seeing an obituary. (I don't want her to die if she's alive, but
it would be good to see a short season of her best films on tv -- maybe somone
will roll them out for her 60th birthday.)
Halliwell gives her one of his cabbage-shaped stars for "being supremely
talented up to the age of ten".

| There's no record of her death in the USENET databases, though that's not
definitive. She's only in her 50's, though.
Last listed appearance is in 1981's "Amy" which looks like a real B movie.
