Wall Street,
Featuring Michael Douglas, Martin and Charly Sheen amongst
others, by Oliver Stone. US '86-87(not sure here)
I saw it last week and enjoyed it a lot. It gave a good and and very relevant
picture of how today's (and ever?)western capitalism is working still.
It shows a young man Bud Fox(Charly Sheen) making a fast career in the NY
stock exchange, as an employee of a well established broker firm.
While trying to build a regular clients group he meets a real Wall Street
tycoon Gordon Gekko(Michael Douglas). Gordon shows him around and teaches
him how to make fast (il)legal money. He also makes some( more or less painfully
truthful) speeches which gives a better picture on how businesses operate
and are being controlled today versus the past and who's interests are served...
Then THE dilemma rises: will he 'sell' the airline 'Bluestar' -where his
feather works for 20+ years or.....
I found the atmosphere very 'adrenalin pumping' from time to time!!
VERY good rating I think as with most of Stone's movies I believe!

I liked this movie as well. By the way, Bud Fox's (Charley Sheen) father was played by his real father Martin Sheen who gave, in my opinion, the best performance of the movie. The two lead characters seemed a little bit weak. In particular, Gordon Gekko's (Michael Douglas) motives were never that clear. We never learned why he became the way he did or what was driving him, but they did a good enough job from the point where they picked up.
