Can anyone tell me when we can expect to see Al Pacino's new film
    Carlitos Way in the UK.

Is the film out in the States yet..??

Finally got to see this at the weekend, great film, much better than De
Palma's last 'Gangster' film, The Untouchable's, but still not quite as
good as Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas. (imo)

Some similaraties in the Carlito Brigante character to Al Pacino as
Tony Montana in Scarface, but this was still good. I'm suprised it hasnt
been more popular here and in the States.

Saw this last weekend. Definitely worth checking out if you appreciate
films of its type. Sean Penn and Pacino were nothing short of
    excellent.

392.6You've seen this movie before in slightly different formsTNPUBS::NAZZAROGentleness overcomes strengthFri Feb 04 1994 13:4616
It's about a drug dealer and his attempt to go straight after serving
six years in prison. It's set in the disco/drug boom era of the late
'70s. Al Pacino is the drug lord, Sean Penn his sleazeball lawyer.

I saw this a couple of weeks ago for 99 cents at the Lowell Flick,
and felt it was about worth the price of admission. The movie was
well made, but was incredibly predictable. It shed no new ground on
the drug scene or for that matter the street scene of that era.
Pacino has done better workrecently ; for exmaple, I thought he was
much better in Book of Love and Godfather III. Penelope Ann Miller
was pretty much wasted as the love interest, as the movie preferred to
focus on the relationship between Pacino and Penn.
