Just when you thought it couldn't be done, the movie industry does it again. From the pages of Marvel Comics they have brought to life. (long pause) The Fantistic Four. I saw a preview for this one last night. Anyone have any other infomation?

Hmm, should have followed up on this. This was produced on the cheap (as usual) by Roger Corman. Someone came along and bought him out after the movie was finished, with an eye to making a bigger budget version. There was a clause in the contract allowing this to happen. So, the cheapie is buried in a vault somewhere, and we may see a big budget version in a couple years -- or maybe not. I believe the identity of the purchaser has not been revealed publicly. I also believe there was speculation that director Chris Columbus was involved in some way. |
