I took my 2 kids to see Rookie of the Year on Friday...They both enjoyed it, but I think I did more...it was one of the cutest movies I've seen in a long time...had me laughing through quite a bit of the movie. A basic synopsis: 12 year old boy stinks at little league, but his desire is there. He breaks his arm while running to catch a ball. After his cast comes off, the doctor finds the tendons have fused to the bone...so a kid who couldn't throw prior to his accident, now can throw a 110 mph fast ball! He is signed by the ailing Chicago Cubs (at 12 years old!)... Daniel Stern(City Slickers, Home Alone) directed this and also plays the pitching coach...he is hysterical. I think I only heard 1 swear in the whole film...good entertainment for kids and adults. 9 out of 10 Donna

I agree, the movie was great. I took my 11-year old daughter and we both loved it. This weekend we're going to see Free Willy - hope that's good to. Dianne

I thought it was pretty good, except for the director (?) who played the idiot, I thought the only scene with him that struck me as funny was in the hotel. MBH

...since the director is the moderately well known actor Daniel Stern, in his directorial debut. |
