	This one is a murder mystery staring Andy Garcia, Uma Thurman,
	the guy who played the synthetic in Aliens whom I can't recall
	his name, and John Malcavich (in a small role).

	The story starts with Garcia, playing a forensics expert,
	starting a new job in a smaller CA town than his last job
	in LA.  A womans hand is found at the dump, which Garcia
	investigates, and in the process falls in love with a
	blind witness (played by Uma).

	I liked this one.  Not a great film (mainly due to the ending),
	but it did make me think a little.  The plot twists were for
	the most part believable.  As for the ending, it seemed rush,
	almost like they ran out of money or time to finish shooting
	the movie.  Or maybe most of the ending ended up on the editing
	room floor to bring the running time down (the video is 127 minutes).

	Question for those who saw this one:

	Whatever happened with the male stiff they found in the dump
	before they found the hand?  Was it a sucicide?  They never
	found the knife, did they?

	RE: to spoiler question: Yes! It was a suicide. They went after the kid with the dog, figuring he picked it up! I think it was mentioned off hand later that they got it back!

	RE; .1 & .2 SPOILER ALERT: I'm not so sure it was a suicide...Andy had mentioned that he made a gross error stating the stiff at the dump was a suicide. He felt that the stiff had witnessed the person disposing of the body part and dog, and that's why he was killed....because he could identify the killer. And at the time Andy realized this, the stiff's body had already been cremated, so they couldn't exhume the body for more evidence. I do agree it ended rather abruptly...but other than that, I did like the movie. Donna

	SPOILER ALERT: THE STIFF IN THE DUMP WAS KILLED BY THE COP WHO DUMPED THE BODY PARTS. BEING AN EXPERIENCED COP HE CUT THE VAGRANTS THROAT IN A MANNER SUGGESTING SUICIDE.i.e. SEVERAL SHALLOW CUTS IN THE THROAT AS WOULD APPEAR ON A SUICIDE PRIOR TO THE DEEP FATAL CUT.

	I picked up the tape the other day and saw this film on TV. It was pretty good for a thriller. **** of 5. Lot's of good character stuff. George I agree that the one big flaw was ... SPOILER ... the end. Hadn't she already tried lying once to get him out of trouble? Somehow I found it hard to believe that another dead cop at the scene would have gotten him off the hook. Seems they both would have ended up being arrested for murder. Maybe I missed something.
