| Sorry, I cought the first few minutes - Lots of blood and too much swearing
-- otherwise I did like the tension and suspense!!!
I suspect that he had been tracking this thing so long he was
practically sharing the same brain with it!
I'd be curious to have the answers too since I couldn't stand to
"listen" to it.

The addition of Rutger Hauer to any B-film generally makes it a cult
flick and 'Split Second' is becoming just that. It is especially
interesting to watch him in various Dutch films of the 70's and
early 80's directed by Verhoeven and others. On to the questions...
Spoilers...
The killer is a telepathic, mutagenic alien with a knowledge of
western occultism and heavily borrowing on Geiger's alien.
Hauer doesn't know everything the alien does. What he does have
are premonitions and experiences from a previous run-in.
Ending: good guys win, Hauer gets the girl, and the sidekick
learns to like RaaRaas and coffee while still getting laid
everynight. Possibility of a sequel is left open with a slight
ambiguity at the end.

| Thanks for the answers!
I figured as much as far as the ending is concerned, but the killer had me
guessing...
One more question behind a
***spoiler***
Does he actually manage to kill the alien, or is that the 'ambiquity'? If so,
how does he even track the bugger...it always seemed to be long gone by the
time he got to the scene of the crime.
*sigh* maybe I should just break down and rent it.

Go ahead and rent it. For context, have a 'Rutger Hauer Festival':
BladeRunner, Flesh+Blood, Blind Fury, Wanted: Dead or Alive, Deadlock,
The Hitcher, Ladyhawke (flawed for not having Matthew Brodderick brutally
eviscerated in the first five minutes), etc. 'Split Second' is not
going to be considered a great movie, but it can be fun.
