132.0. "Consenting Adults" by 12368::michaud (Jeff Michaud, DECnet/OSI) Sun Apr 11 1993 00:36

This one stars Kevin Kline, Mary Mastroantonio (sp?), and
another pair of actors whose names I can't recall. Oh yea,
Forest Whitaca (sp?) of "The Crying Game" fame has basically
a cameo even though he was given an opening credit.

Basic story line is Kevin & Mary are a couple living in a
yuppy neighborhood when this other couple moves in next
door. This new couple live life in the fast lane, while
Kevin & Mary, married 14 years, are relatively conservative.
That soon changes with the new neighbors when they fast
become very good friends. The husband next door neighbor
then suggests wife swapping to Kevin, and the movie continues
	from there (down hill!) .....

I can't give this one a very good review. Though the plot
line was interesting, it depends on some idoitic actions
of Kevin Kline's character. If I didn't know better, I'd
say I was watching a "made for TV `movie' (haha)".

	Thumbs down.

This one definately depended on the "Maximum theory of stupidity" to keep it
going...

spoiler stuff

Stuff like the police not caring that the murdered wife had a $1.5 million
dollar life insurance policy.

Kevin Kline leaving Kay after he just found her in order for the other guy to
kill her.

The police not questioning why the wife turned up dead twice.

Kevin Kline failing to call the police after he had evidence against the other
guy.

It had more plot holes than a collander.

Although I haven't seen it yet, and I am a name-dropper by trade, I must
admit that I used to go out with a girl (Melissa Moore) who was in this
    film.

(I believe she played a dead prostitute)

Although it wasn't any big thing, my wife still objects to seeing it!

132.5One of the all time worst movies...35186::BACHThey who know nothing, doubt nothing...Fri Aug 06 1993 12:4320
Well wifey gave in, and it was too bad for me...

This movie stunk it up. Really, *really*, stupid.

    spoilers (other than the script)

Well my pal Melissa played the body double for the wife, she was seen
making out (nude) with Kline and then dead as a doornail.

Since they didn't show her face, or bother to explain who she was in
the end, Melissa didn't even make the credits.

The plot holes were too much... The fact that Kline didn't bring
Forrest W. to help fetch the girl. The fact that he *LEFT* her alone
    after he found her.

All the other stupid things METZ mentioned.

    A true disappointment.
