122.0. "Unlawful Entry" by 12368::michaud (Jeff Michaud, DECnet/OSI) Wed Apr 07 1993 22:18

This one stars Kurt Russel and Ray Liolita (sp?). Kurt
plays a business man who's house gets broken into (and
the intruder holds his wife at knife point), and Ray
	plays an obsessive cop.

Lots of suspense, and only mildly predictable (the ending was
VERY predictable however :-). Just keep your mind in
"psycho flick" mode and you'll enjoy this film.

I just saw this one. Kurt Russell, Madeleine Stowe and Ray
Liotta in *superb* performances! What a psycho thriller!
BRRRRRRRRRRRRR! It was a definite feel-bad movie, in the
way that Ray Liotta played the bad guy so intense and so
convincing that you end up almost hating him personally - I
think I'll have a hard time to forget this role in future
	films featuring this guy!

The ending was, as mentioned, predictable. But nevertheless
	a nerve-breaking, breath-taking experience to watch this
movie - mostly because of the class acting...

I think he also played the bad guy in a movie with (I think) Melanie Griffith
and Jeff Daniels where he was similarly intensely evil as her ex-boyfriend
who wanted her back in a bad way. "Something Wild" maybe? I remember
having a similar strong reaction to that character.

RE: Ray Liotta playing evil characters...

There's a new movie (the name of which escapes me) about a housekeeper
moving in with a family: father and daughter, the mother died recently.

Whoopie Goldberg plays the housekeeper, who brings warmth and positive
feelings back into the household. I've seen a couple of positive
review on TV, but I haven't seen the movie.

Anyway, getting back to the point: the father is Ray Liotta. When I
heard that he had the role, my first thought was whether he could play
a sympathetic character, or whether I could allow myself to be
convinced of his portrayel, given the nasty roles he does so well.

One reviewer said that Liotta was very effective as the father; that
his performance downplayed the loss of his wife.

I also saw Liotta on Leno the other night, and they dug out an
embarrassing, sappy soap opera love scene he did years ago.
