| Sigh. This guy was a "wild talent" - he did some really fine things,
and it seems that every time he had one good role he'd go off and spend
the next couple of years doing heavy drugs and getting in all the
trouble he could... The first thing I saw him in was the TV series
"Wiseguy," which he almost single-handedly turned into a contender; I
still think of that as his best work, though his early performance in
"The Idolmaker" was a fine one.

He was pretty good in Willie and Phil as well.

Last weekend I heard a radio report that Ray Sharkey died of
AIDS. I couldn't find a newspaper obit, but hey, someone will
post the information in NOTES.
Well they did - dated 24 March!???
I thought I was losing it until I got written confirmation via
rec.movies on Internet that he died Friday, June 11, 1993.
I would post the obit, but there is probably some pcweenie
NOTES rule against it.
So, what's up?

Well, one of those "Parade" or "Star" magazines sure made it
sound like he died in February sometime ... I don't remember
the wording of the article, though.

| Yeah, I was rather startled by the "second" obit too. Ah, well.
