If you liked This is Spinal Tap, you'll like CB4. It's a parody of Gangsta Rap (Ice-T/Ice Cube) it stars Chris Rock (from Saturday Night Live) who also wrote and co-executice produced. Charles Murphy (Eddie's big brother) also has a featured role. This is a funny movie and you don't have to be a fan of rap to enjoy it. Spoiler Warning Chris plays an aspiring rapper, looking for a hook. His trio decide to become Gangsta Rappers and he adopts the personna of a local drug dealer who now is in prison (Charles Murphy). The real gangster is pissed off and escapes from prison to look for Chris Rock. A lot of funny scenes with the gansta rappers trying to keep up the act, with girl friends and relatives trying to deal with them like the good boys they are. A lot of four letter words and sexism, so its not a movie for the kids. This wouldn't be nominated for any Academy Awards, but it's a funny movie and should make money and help establish Chris Rock's movie career. Regards Barry

I saw this over the weekend on video. Not too bad, pretty amusing in some parts, sorta dragged in a couple areas. Not nearly as good as Spinal Tap, but entertaining in its own right. 6.5 out of 10 alan | |||||
