critic mumbled who Sparky was, but his mouth was full of the popcorn

| Just a guess, but I suspect "Sparky" is the psychiatriac hospital's
electro-shock machine. "Inmates" (be they psychiatric or criminal)
often give names to such machines: in fact, "Sparky" is the name of
Georgia's electric chair.

| Did Jack Nicholson have a role in "The Bridge on the River Kwai"?
I do not remember him in this, but saw something recently that purports
to list it among his films. An uncredited extra, perhaps?

listing in that movie, but he COULD have been an "uncredited extra"....
