Hello, I have a customer who uses the ODBC driver V1.1 with MS Access to access an Rdb 4.1 database using TCPIP. They want to use the ODBC driver V2.0 with MS Acess95 to access an Rdb 4.1 database using TCPIP. Can they access it ? Best regards, Yoshitaka Hiraiwa/SPS/MCS/DEC-J

The SQLServices that came with 4.1 didn't support TCPIP. I would suggest you install 6.1-02 SQLServices. This should work with Rdb 4.1... john | |||||
2213.2 | Should work but Rdb 4.1 not officially supported | ORASQS::OXBURY | Oracle Corporation, Rdb Desktop Group|DTN 381-2704 | Fri Jun 06 1997 10:02 | 10 |
However, Rdb 4.1 has not been supported for a long time now and I know that we didn't run any tests against it with SQL/Services 6.1. We try not to do anything that will break support for old versions of Rdb, but because we don't test against them, there's no guarantee that it will work and if it doesn't, then its extremely unlikely that it'll get fixed (for example, we don't even have a working version of Rdb 4.1 on our cluster). On the other hand, if it does work, then that's great. Si |
