2200.0. "CRYPTO_SEED needed?" by chsr38.ch.oracle.com::RROHR (Cajun? Zeydeco? Both!) Fri May 09 1997 09:51

    The SQLNET.ORA sample file that comes with Sql Services 7.1 contains
    the parameter SQL.CRYPTO_SEED.

    I know of cases where the setting of this parameters caused me grief,
    and as it is only important for SNS, can I do away with it safely? Are we
    yet using SNS?

    Thanks,
    Regina

2200.1We can use SNS, but if you're not...SQLSRV::MAVRISSue Mavris - [email protected]Mon May 12 1997 12:577
The sample ORA files we shipped were generated by NETMAN. The simpler files
we usually run with do not contain the SQL.CRYPTO_SEED param - so you should
be able to drop it.

Yes - we do have the option of using SNS for encryption with SQL/Services.
