Hello, A customer wants to install SYS$LIBRARY:SQL$INT.EXE as /PRIVILEGED and /SHARED. But first wants to know what it does. I cant find any reference to SQL$INT.EXE anywhere in notes or the doc set. The cust is worried about potential security holes. Does anyone know what this .exe does, or any problems installing it as privileged? Thanks, Rich.

SQL$INT is a regular RDB image and not specificly related to SQLServices. You may want to ask your question in the Rdb or SQL notes conferences. John

/PRIVILEGED???? Anyway - this is a SQL image. Try the SQL notes conference (NOMAHS::SQL). Sue

If they want to install images /PRIV then it sounds like they want to create security holes... Take a look at SYS$STARTUP:SQL$STARTUP.COM. It is called by SYS$STARTUP:RMONSTARTnn.COM. The image should already be installed. What does it do? None of their business! :-) Actually, it doesn't do much. Mostly it just transfers control to whatever SQL$SHARE image is appropriate for the version of SQL they are using. What does SQL$SHARE do? Well, SQL stuff that we don't much feel like explaining to anyone... |
