2154.0. "DECquery wanting rdb 7 installed with sql/services v7?" by BROKE::BASTINE () Wed Feb 26 1997 19:47
I had a call tonight from a customer trying to get SQL/Services V7 to run
with DECquery.
On one system, he had Rdb v7 installed, installed sql/services v7 and it
all worked fine.
On his development system, he installed sql/services v7, but only had Rdb 6.1
installed. Sql/services connections using ODBC worked. However, any connection
he tried to use using DECquery would report the error:
SQLVERNOTFOUND, SQL version not found.
The GENERIC service did have 6.1 in the SQL Version, so we were at a loss for
what the problem might be.
I thought it might have something to do with V7 of Rdb somehow being expected
somewhere/somehow from DECquery.
He installed Rdb v7 and DECquery now worked!! Anyone have any ideas why
DECquery required Rdb v7???
Thanks,
Renee
