2144.0. "Blank passwords not allowed in V7.0?" by BROKE::BASTINE () Tue Feb 18 1997 12:21
I had a customer upgrade his system from Rdb V6.1 and Sql/Services 6.1 to
Rdb v7.0 and SQL/Services V7.0. After the upgrade, one of his programs stopped
working. The error (-2034) was an authorization failure for an account they
created just for this program. The account was SQL_ACCESS and was created for
remote access with an encoded password which used to be a blank, and it all
worked. After the upgrade to V7.0 the blank password caused authorization
failures when sql/services tried to authorize this account on the remote node.
As soon as they put in a real password for the account, the access was granted
and it worked.
It a blank password something sql/services doesn't deal with anymore? It used
to.
Thanks,
Renee
