1073.0. "ACCVIO doing a cdo extract" by M5::GHODSON () Thu Mar 20 1997 16:22
Hi:
I have a customer who is getting a system accvio doing an extract of
a dmu format record in CDO.
He recently installed CDD 6.1 and Rdb 6.1-04 on his Alpha OpenVMS 6.2
system. This was a new install. He created a new cdd$compatibility
and then used DCL to copy his cdd.dic and subdictionaries from a VAX running
CDD 4.3 to this Alpha. And then reinstalled Datatrieve to use CDD.
In Datatrieve he can set his dictionary to the apporpriate cdd$top.subdir
and edit any one of several records. Also in DMU he can do an extract/record
of each to get a .ddl file. But in CDO, when he does an extract on any of
these dmu records, he gets an accvio:
CDO> extract record pay_rec
%SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation, reason mask=04, virtual addres=01E33FC0,
PC=00A6CC4C, PS=0000001B
Register dump:
...
I had him recompile one of the .ddl files using cddl and then try and
extract the new record using CDO and he still gets the accvio. This is
from a privileged account. Also he cdd$compatibility is not being used
for storing cdo format objects; just used to link to his cdd.dic.
I had him send me the .ddl file and I compiled it on two different alphas,
one with CDD 6.1 and Rdb 6.1-04 and the other with CDD 7.0 and Rdb 7.0.
In both cases I was able to use CDO to extract the record.
Any ideas on what could be different about his system that would cause
the accvio?
Thanks.

Gary, just a WAG that 6.2 on the Alpha might be the problem.

1073.2 | ECO ? | 8292::PJACOB | Patrick [email protected] | Tue Apr 08 1997 04:58 | 6 |
| Hi Gary,
Is CDD 6.1 without ECO ? I suggest at least the 1st ECO , and better
the last one .
