One of our large customers wants to know why no 5.3 CDD patches were created 
for Alpha systems.

    With V5.3 there wasn't a large OpenVMS Alpha customer base and so most 
    of the problem reports (in particular the ones fixed by 5.3 patches) 
    were reported on OpenVMS VAX systems.
