1342.0. "Lotus Approach and SQLTablePriveleges call" by caotv1.ca.oracle.com::MROY () Wed May 14 1997 11:49
We have a customer using Lotus Approach with ODBC to access a RDB
database. They get the following error:
Error log:
SQLError (IM001): [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not
support this function
With further investigation it looks like Lotus Approach is using
SQLTablePrivileges call , which is not supported under our ODBC
2.10.11
The customer received the following info from a Lotus Support
person :
I will try and summarize the problem. We issue an
SQL_ACCESSIBLE_TABLES call and it returns an "N".
This tells us that not all of the tables are accessible.
Some of the tables may not be available to the current user.
So then we go and check and see if the table the current user is
accessible by issuing a SQLTablePrivileges call.
Under normal circumstances this would check the userid and table
name and see if the table was accessible.
But as you can see in the following section of the tracelog and error
log the Oracle driver does not support the SQLTablePriveleges call.
So the question is , is there any plans to support SQLTablePriveleges ?
I don't see any workarounds to this problem , the fix would
require coding changes from Lotus , but I'm not too familiar with
Lotus and ODBC , so any suggestions are welcome
Thanks in advance
Michel
