1305.1 | Rdb8? | CHSR38::ROHR | The Packers did it! | Tue Feb 25 1997 04:43 | 4 |
| From what I gather ODBC V3 will come with Rdb8. But I'd be interested
as well in more specific (or approximate) dates.

1305.2 | No ODBC SDK 3.0 support in Rdb8 | SQLSRV::MAVRIS | Sue Mavris - [email protected] | Mon Apr 21 1997 11:50 | 8 |
| Sorry Regina... not true. There will not be an ODBC SDK 3.0 compliant driver
in Rdb8.
If you have customers expressing interest in ODBC 3.0, please let us know
what features of the 3.0 SDK they're interested in. We'll consider this
support for a future version if customers require it.

1305.3 | What can we do to get this considered? | BROKE::BASTINE | | Mon Apr 21 1997 13:49 | 15 |
| Hi Sue,
There have been several calls asking when our ODBC drivers will support
V3.0. Some of the customers have already tried to use some features that
require it and get told they can't use it. Diane had one customer last week.
He was trying to use File DSN's, (whatever those are). The customer I had
wanted the 3.0 compliance, but never gave specifics as to what they were
interested in... just wanted to know when our Driver would comply with it.
What do we have to do to get this considered? Shouldn't our products be
compliant with the latest specs out there?
Thanks,
Renee

1305.4 | Send requests and specifics to Jan Schwartz | SQLSRV::MAVRIS | Sue Mavris - [email protected] | Mon Apr 21 1997 16:10 | 8 |
| Hi Renee,
You can send requests with specifics to the Rdb desktop manager, Jan Schwartz
([email protected]). This work hasn't been scheduled. It's a
significant amount of work that we will schedule if there is sufficient
customer demand.

I understand -- but aren't customers going to use this as a
differentiator which puts Microsoft, etal. "ahead" of us ?
