Sue, did you mean we do not support the Oracle Installer for the Odbc
Driver?

I was able to reach this customer, Jerry! I'm sure this call is what prompted
your note and I didn't see your note until after I took the call!

The customer is running Alpha NT 4.0... Sue, do you know when or have an
estimate on when it will be repackaged so that it will run on Alpha NT?
Once it is repackaged, will it be put on the web as 2.10.11 or a newer
version of the ODBC driver?

Thanks!

Renee,

check out the sql/srv note 2091.6 for how to install on nt 4.0.

I think the kits on the web will install. Lots of people have done so.

Re .0
Jerry,

We have tested and do support the 2.10.11 ODBC Driver on NT 4.0 Intel.

We have not fully tested and do not yet support any version of the ODBC Driver
on NT 4.0 Alpha. I haven't tried this myself, but I have heard that the
version of Oracle Installer that shipped with the 2.10.11 Driver did not work
on NT 4.0 Alpha (and I believe the problem was more than the autorun problem
mentioned in SQL_SERVICES note 2091).

>Sue, did you mean we do not support the Oracle Installer for the Odbc

We don't support the Driver either. Because the installer didn't work, we
didn't certify the Driver on NT 4.0 Alpha.

Re .1
Renee,

We're planning to ship the Driver for NT 4.0 Alpha when the next DBAPack goes
out. Today's estimate is March/April. Unless we have to fix several bugs
between now and then, we would just repackage the 2.10.11 Driver with a new
Oracle Installer and not change the version.

Re .2

Jerry - I know lots of folks have installed the web kit on NT 4.0 Intel. Do
you know if they've installed on NT 4.0 Alpha? I guess I should install 4.0
on my alpha box and give it a try.

Sue,

I can't read....
looked harder, saw INTEL supported, then Alpha NT not supported.

but at least my crossed eyes got lead us to some good info, re:
