Just to wrap this up. It was generating an sqlsrv$bugcheck.dmp
The bugcheck dump shows they have the %SQLSRV-F-COMLCKDEQEXE,
-SYSTEM-F-IVLOCKID problem, which is fixed in ECO 2.
BTW sorry this went in the ODBC conference - I did intend it to go in
sql_services.
