VXT2000 VXT V2.1 OpenVMS V6.2/VAX Hi, I have experienced the following problem: A wilcard (*) in the Username field of the VXT Security/Listed User Only, doesn't allow any access for users from a same node. 2 wilcards (**) in the Username field of the VXT Security/Listed User Only does allow the access for users from a same node. Is this a known problem? Is there any explanation, any fix? Thanks. \Pierre

A few questions to understand the problem correctly: - Are you using TCP/IP, DECnet or LAT as transport to display? - Are you talking about the security settings of the Terminal Manager (VXT) or the Session Manager (launched from the VAX) I'm asking this becaus TCP/IP (UCX?) has some restrictions not "sending" the username or so... And be aware that if you launch a Session Manager the SM's security is overwriting the Terminal Managers security settings. And an other special thing about the TM's security is that it is open for SYSTEM (and root?) so that a login box (which comes from SYSTEM) can be launched. andre |
