One of the captive public accounts used to log fieldservice calls (zeke fscalls) dumps a whole bunch of odd things to the user's screen. One is ESC [ q That causes v1.3 of vtstar (on alpha at least) to draw four funny blobs in the title bar of the current session. What is CSI q supposed to do? And why does VTstar draw junk instead?

527.1 | It's pretending to be a VT100 | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Tue May 20 1997 03:58 | 10 |
On a VT100, which has four little lights on the front, the ESC [ P1 q command controls which of the lights are on. According to my list, If P1 is 0, it turns all the lights off, but perhaps P1 being blank has the same effect. Anyway, VTstar is doing its best to emulate the little lights by drawing four blobs to replace them. If you send ESC ] 1 q then the first lamp is turned on, etc. Graham who knows this because he works on ALL-IN-1, and we do this too... |
