A friend of mine had her blue front amazon pass away last night from fatty liver disease. Does anyone have any information on this disease? She informed me that all amazons are prone to it, but that imported amazons are more susceptible to the disease. Any info would be appreciated as I have two amazons...

Sorry to hear about your friends Blue-front Amazon. I recently lost Zebra Finch. In either the July or August issue of Bird Talk there are some articles on Amazons. Maybe they talk about the fatty liver disease in one of the articles. Condolences to your firend. Regards, Susan |
