I'm looking for info on Canaries. I've gone through this file and read the few assorted topics. I guess my questions are what are the basic differences between types. I'd like a good singer, and I prefer the typical yellow/orange color. Is this really a red factor or just a hellow canary. If I got a red factor how healthy is the supplement you need to feed to keep the color, or do you really need to? Where, besides pet shops would I find canaries in southern NH? What price should I expect to pay. I've seen some for $50.00 (too young to be sexed) and have been quoted as much as $110.00 I'm real picky about buying from pet shops. I have a few possibilities but am looking for the right bird. Shops are willing to order a bird for me but I feel I need to give the bird a say in the matter! Any help/info will be appreciated! 901.1 | Canaries - What kind? | VNZV01::GRAJAL | ARMANDO GRAJAL | Fri Aug 18 1995 19:02 | 23 |
Hello, The best way to obtain a good canary is directly from a canary breeder probably is the same price as in the petshop, but the bird will be in better shape. And also you have to know what kind of canary do you want, basically there are three major categories, which are: Type Canaries Color Canaries Song Canaries The original color of the canary (From Canary Islands) is the fully green, with little black over the wings. By the end of August is a good moment for purchasing canaries as they are coming out of the molte, and ready to start a new season. Once you know which kind of canary you want let me know, so we can discuss the pros and cons. Saludos, Armando |
