Hi Folks, Anybody know how to get young chicken hatchlings to be raised as a family/neighborhood project, handled gently by young children to keep them tame, that kind of thing.... A co-worker not familiar with our notes conference asked me about this, so thought I'd give the question a try here. He wants to get ten young chicks this Spring. Thanks... Linda

Hi Linda, Chicks usually have to be bought in batches of 25; that's the smallest number the hatcheries sell as that's the minimum amount of "bodies" to keep warm during shipping (in the mail, no less ;^) !). We are placing an order this weekend, so if your friend wants 10 we can include them in our order ... does he/she have a brooder or would they want us to brood for six weeks? Reply here or in mail, whichever you'd prefer ... - Andrea | |||||

Hi Andrea, I'll see my friend this afternoon and check with him. He's a Digital employee also, so I'll copy your mail to his account and have him start a dialogue directly. Thanks very much! Linda |
