Does anyone know what happened to Parrot Jungle after the hurricane? I saw the path on the map, and it seemed to pass right over South Miami. I had just been there for the third time this Spring, and I was very sad to think they must have lost many of my favorite birds. I tried calling them, but there is only a "Closed due to hurricane" recording. Any first hand info? Did the birds fly away and then return? --bob

I saw a news clip that showed someone from the Parrot Jungle petting a
cockotoo and stating that many pets had been very much upset by the
hurricane and that they needed special attention during these times.
I just caught the end of the clip and didn't hear whether or not they
had lost many birds, but the surrounding area in the photo looked
rather bad, windblown and trees down and such.
I wonder if the humane society in Miami could give you some info?

I am planning a vacation to the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area in April and
would like to visit any places that might feature birds or bird
shows.Does anyone have any advice or information on the availability of
this type of place in that area? Thanks for the help.

Pick up a Bird Talk and it will list the shows going on. In the Cage Birds
magazine - they list shows and in the back all the breaders, supply places,
ect. Have fun - wish I was going.
