Can't believe I did it but I was in a pet shop yesterday
and saw my first button quail. As this thing now resides on
my desk next to me I would say that I feel in love with it!
My wife is not happy ;-] Keeps saying "it just never ends"!
I found an old note on these birds that was about two
years old. Is there any new wisdom on these birds? There
were no books on button quails so I learning as I go.
I have one bird, (that's all they had), would two be better?
How can you sex these birds?
Present setup I was sold is a 15 gallon fish tank with cover,
corn cob bedding, food dishes & a hallowed out type of log
that he seems to like to sleep under. Is this o.k.?
When spooked this bird flies straight up and hits its head
on the tank cover. Can you hand train them? Can you clip the
wings?
I was very proud of myself for being a good Republican and
naming him Dan. Quite proud of myself until I read the old
note in which that quail was named Dan as well. Oh well as
long as I didn't steal the name I guess it's legal!
