713.0. "Help On BATS???" by ASABET::POMEROY () Mon Aug 03 1992 13:28
This probably is not the most appropriate place for this, but I
could note find a note out there about it. It is about "BATS".
I figured, well they fly, why not try a birds conference. Well
here is my question. Last night my neighbor called me at 1 a.m.
scared out of her mind. She was being dive-bombed by a bat. Since
her husband just left her, I was the only one to turn to at the time,
(my wife took the call). I went over there and tracked down the
bat and caught it in a fish net. I brought it outside and let it
go. Now, there are probably more in the attic, So how can I tell
if there are more there??? What should look for???
If this can be answered here, then great. But if not, does anyone
know a note that I can look at to find out more info. I don't want
to kill them. I like bats, they do wonders for the bug population.
Thanks for any and all help,
Kevin "Who has been dubbed - Biff, The Vampire Slayer"

Bats like all creatures leave droppings where they
reside. Look for droppings in the attic.
Bats need a way to enter the house so have her seal
any openings that allow the bats to enter. Logic also
dictates that this will make it impossible for them to
leave! Perhaps doing any sealing after dark,(after they
have gone hunting), would minimize any permanent visiters.
Also if you need further professional advise call the local
dog catcher! Yes these guys get called for everything and
usually have referral directories.
Bats all I can think of ;-)
