678.0. "Read quick- Reply Quicker !!!" by RUNTUF::MAGEE () Mon Apr 13 1992 09:57

            Rosey, my 6 month old teil, has one eye closed and
    won't open it! She seems healthy otherwise. Should I be concerned?
    Is a trip to the vet in order? Does anyone know a good bird vet in
    the Merrimack N.H. area?

    Quick replies will be appreciated.

    I guess if it was me I'd try to open it's eye lid and see if
    something's in it. If you bring it to a vet, that's probably the first
    thing he'll do anyway.

678.2The winking spaz???RUNTUF::MAGEEMon Apr 13 1992 11:0914

    UPDATE--

           Rosey seems to be a little better. She seems to favor the eye
    keeping it closed half the time. Steven referred me to Care Hospital
    for Animals in Milford. Spoke with Patty who set me up with an
    appointment for tomorrow if shes not better. The thought is that she
    may have hit the eye on something thus making it sore. She is quite the
    spaz!!!

    thanks for the quick replies-

    You really should take Rosey to the Vet. I have a maile tiel that gets
    infections in his eyes every so often. The Vet give me special
    anti-bacterial cream for his eyes. I wouldn.t wait.

    My male tiel does it all the time, either one eye or both. I've had
    him to the vet numerous times, but the vet can't find anything wrong
    with him. I guess he just likes it that way...............
678.5Good VetSALEM::NEAULTWed Apr 15 1992 12:546
    If your looking for a VERY GOOD Vet try Dr Alexandra Kilgore DVM in
    Littleton, Mass. I have had bad experience in this local area,
    expecially in HUDSON Where I lost my Yellow Name due to rough handling.
    Doctor Kilgore is just fantastic. Worth the trip.
