    Has anyone out there had any luck getting their bird(s) to switch from
    a seed diet to a pellet diet? I've been feeding my female cockatiel a
    good seed mixture for several years. The problem is that she eats only
    the white millet seeds in this mixture. She occasionally nibbles on the
    fresh greens and veggies that I give her, but is almost exclusively a
    millet eater. In an attempt to give her a more nutritious diet I've
    recently been trying to convert her to a pellet food by mixing the
    pellets into her seeds in increasingly greater amounts. My concern is
    that she seems to avoid the pellets and her stool begins to get loose
    from the decrease in seed consumption. I tried to convert her gradually
    to the new diet, but the change in her stool concerned me enough to
    stop. I'm wondering if I need to be more persistent and give her more
    time to adjust to the change.
    
    Any ideas or thoughts?

	DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT BLUEJAYS EAT. I HAVE A NEST RIGHT NEXT TO MY HOUSE AND I THOUGHT I'D FEED THEM EVERY NOW AND THEN. THANKS AHEAD OF TIME ROGER

	I have a large "feeding platform", I put sunflower in it for the larger birds. I also have a smaller feeder on a pipe which has compartments for different types of seed.... Anyway, I get Cardinals, Blue Jays, Doves etc. to my platform and sunflower. Apparently even thou sunflower has too much "fat" for pet birds, those in the wild are not harmed by it according to my Vet... -dick

	Blue Jays especially love the sunflower seeds. I get mixed seed, and the stupid ;^) blue jays throw the millet and other seed out of the feeder in order to get the sunflower seeds! - Andrea

	Obnoxious, Loud, Pushy, yeah...but certainly not stupid! Actually, all of the seed that the Jays push out gets eaten by the Doves and the Pheasants, not to mention squirels, chipmunks etc... Maybe it saves a few bites out of the garden... :-) -dick
