I am an admitted Pet Shop junkie....so I tend to wander thru any shop I can find....often again and again.... That said, I was in New England Tropical Pet in Chelmsford the other day....and I almost did somthing that could well have guaranteed losing a happy home... They have a baby hand fed Umbrella and a baby hand fed Blue and Gold....both birds are absolutely amazing! They will gladly walk all over you, and both love to be held and petted.... I swear, when I put the cockatoo back on its perch, it cried! I was heartbroken...what a beautiful bird! Gee I wonder how a baby Umbrella would get along with a five year old blue and gold? Nah....my wife would KILL me...but it sure is a temptation! -dick

I was in the same shop yesterday. I was early for a meeting and had driven by it several times, so I thought I'd stop in and take a look around. As I passed the stand that the baby Umbrella was on, he quickly hoppe onto my shoulder and started making his baby sounds. He is a real cutie! I walked around the store and he was right at home. I did have a heck of a time removing him. I no sooner got him back on the stand, and he would hop right back. I was tempted to ask how much they wanted for him, but with all my birds and an equally lovable Moluccan at home, I thought better. My husband would probably start packing! But again, he was real cute..... Denise |
