613.0. "Baytril medication" by ESGWST::MOEHLENPAH () Wed Sep 25 1991 20:37
I took KoKo, my B&G for a nail and wing trim last week. (this a new vet,
since my vet is out doing his lecture thing...). Anyways, she noticed some
contusions in her ears, and some abnormalities inside her mouth... She took a
culture and discovered E.Coli and Interbacter (spelling). Has anyone with
experience with baytril in water as the only drinking water? I would have much
rather fed it to her with a syringe...
I guess she has moderate infection... I know she's been a little off her food,
but not that much... Plus, with sinus infections, I thought I would see more
obvious signs... (e.g. sneezing, fluids etc.) I don't see *any*.

| I used baytril on my two budgies when I first got them (they had
terrible colds). Wasn't in the drinking water though. I had to put
two drops twice a day directly in their mouths.
It worked well and although one budgie did not survive (he had more
than a cold; he had liver problems) the one that did survive got well
quickly and has been great evey since.
