337.0. "NHAS meeting" by GIAENG::PULSIFER (Doug Pulsifer 235-3332, BPO1) Thu Mar 29 1990 10:32

I attended the NHAS club meeting last night and Dr. Kilgore did a
presentation of several case historys. She showed Xrays from each of
the cases and was very informative. I have heard about her from many
noters here, but had never met her before and was impressed.

Also one of the Members (Andy) brougth his Hyancinth Macaw to the
meeting and the Dr. removed two blood feathers to be sent out for
surgical sexing. I talked to Andy afterwards and got to pat Blue(the
Hyancinth) and Blue even climbed on my arm and my shoulder ! This was
quite a thrill to me , as the only other Hycacinth I have ever seen was
    Beauregard(Boston Pet).

Our Spring auction is next month.

Well the auction was last Wednesday and was well attended. I bought
a couple of Budgie Breeding cages and some non-bird related stuff.

    Budgies started $8 each
    Lovebirds started at $20
A nice freindly Red rump went for $45
A very nice looking Goffin didn't sell, the minimum price was $150
    Cockatiels started at $25
    A pair of s/s Grey-cheeks went for $210

There were other good deal on birds, but the prices didn't stick
with me. Lady gouldian, other red rumps, bourkes.

There were quite a few small parrot cages, cuttlebones, nest boxes,
etc.... Also lots of non-bird stuff

Anyone who has never been should try to catch the next bird auction
no matter what club puts it on. You can get good deals and have
    fun.
