Does anyone know anything about Peach front Conures? (also known as half moon conures) Am looking for a good pet (not a breeding pair) and may be buying a pair of these but I've been told that pairs will bond to eachother and not you. These 2 have been together for a few years now and are tame but I was wondering what would happen if I separated them. Would they pluck themselves? Or become attached to me? These are domestic bred. Also, any info on these positive or negative is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rich

Peach-fronts (and the Petz's conure-looks the same but has a light horn-colored beak instead of a black beak) are certainly attractive birds and within the budget of most folks, compared to the high cost of some of the other conures. I have been amazed at the volume of sound coming from these little birds, but then they *are* conures (if you haven't owned a conure before, be prepared for loud screaming if you do not pay enough attention-in their opinion-to them, or if their food or water dish is low, or any number of other things). The conure's appeal for me has always been its energy, inquisitiveness, and willingness to be trained. If you are interested in a hand-fed bird, Fins 'n' Feathers in Chelmsford said they would be getting some in soon (508-459-4666) and Safari Square in Orleans, MA (Cape Cod) has them from time to time (508-255-9355).
