I've been there, I used to live in Holden. He's been open
a couple of years. Nice guy, but I wouldn't say prices or
selection are worth a long ride (unless things have changed
    	radically since February).

The birds I've seen in there seemed healthy/happy and
    	retail priced.

| | We stopped by there last Saturday. Very clean, but a fair amount
of cigarette smoke. They had a beautiful pair of surgically sexed,
bonded Amazon Orange-Wings, if anyone is interested in trying to
breed this type of bird. They wanted about $485 for the pair.
Compared to the size and condition of other Orange-Wings I've seen
in shops, these two were extraordinary. Not for pets, though. /Linda

My husband and I stopped at Jungle Jim's last Saturday and I must say that
we were not real thrilled about it. Granted, it was fairly clean and prices
were not bad, but the woman who was feeding the birds as we walked in had
a cigarette lit up the whole time. When she would finish one, she would light
up another, which I don't imagine is too healthy for birds, especially to have
smoke blowing in their faces as they are trying to eat.
The store is fairly small, and as I walked into the fish area, there was the
owner's cat sleeping on the floor underneath the fish tanks as if to be
waiting for his lunch.
As Linda Compton had mentioned in a previous note, the pair of orange-wings
that were bonded were just gorgeous and very reasonably priced, but I would
never seperate them. We had been looking for a CAIQUE, which they did have,
but this bird was in no way tame.
Also, some of the signs that said TAME, there is no way that some of these
birds were tame. A tame bird would not crouch and hiss and growl when
approached.
All in all, it did have it's good points, but for the most part, I don't
think it was worth the trip.
The worker was very friendly and happy to discuss birds with us, but for all
the good things we had heard about this place, and due to the fact that we drove
from Maynard to Holden, it was somewhat of a disappointment.
