163.0. "Another NH Avicultural Society" by SPGBAS::BOURGAULT () Thu Apr 20 1989 15:41

    I belong to the "Birds Of A Feather" Avicultural Society based
    out of Hampton, N.H. We meet the second monday of each month.
    We recently elected a new president (Marty LeTourneau - Proprietor
    of Stardust Aviary) who is doing a marvelous job. Since his
    election in January, We have had two guest speakers who own
    large bird farms (from FLA. & MN). We also hold an action twice
    a year (Our next auction is Monday Evening, May 8 @ 8:00 P.M.)
    and an annual bird show which takes place in October.

    Club dues are $10.00 annually. Our membership count is approx. 160
    to date. Dr. Al Decoteau (SPBE President, Author, Breeder) is on
    the board of
    directors, and attends the meetings.

    Do you have to be a member to go to the auction? What kinds of
    things are auctioned? Large, attractive cages, by any chance?
163.2RE: AUCTIONSPGBAS::BOURGAULTFri Apr 21 1989 12:239
    I don't believe that you have to be a member to attend the auction.
    Unfortunately there are few cages. Mostly birds. Other things
    include plants, household items, crafts and some bird supplies,
    mostly donated from pet stores. It's a fun evening and you can
    get some good deals on birds, plus meet other "bird fanatics".

    If anyone is interested I can forward directions.

    Denise.
