| Hi:
I've had budgies all my life and I really don't think you need to
worry. Birds can go a long time without water (days, I've heard)
but I'm sure your budgies are drinking. You can't be watching them
every minute of every waking hour. They've probably taken a few
sips at times you weren't watching. They will drink when they are
thirsty, believe me. As long as they're eating fine and their health
(and droppings) look OK, I'm sure they're also drinking water.
As for bird baths, I always have a cup with water for my budgie
to bathe in if he so desires. Sometimes he drinks from it, also.
But I change the water 1-2 times a day or whenever I see droppings
in it. Make sure the water is not sitting under a place he perches.
Also, is your water cup a covered one? Budgies don't like sticking
their heads in covered cups (nor do finches). I have water towers
for my finches and small open cups for my budgies next to their
perches. Good luck and don't worry (unless they really look sick).

| Maybe they are getting all the fluid they need from the veggies..
(I assume they get veggies every day).

| I use to notice my budgie drinking when I walked away from the cage.
or I'd hear her after I covered the cage. There were days and days
I thought she wasn't drinking until I managed to spot her
accidentally.

| My birds won't go near the water dishes when I'm watching...it
may be a reflex related to watching for predators...that they
avoid being vulnerable when they know something is looking at
them.

| Hi!
I have found that budgies drink very little water! But, they *do*
drink it or they'd never survive! I don't understant it either!
All my birds drink tons of water a day... the budgies however, seem
to almost go a full day without a drink.
the only budgies I've seen freely and openly drink water are the
babies we have raised! I just don't know!
