| In my on-going search for the perfect bird , I stopped off at twin
city pets in Biddeford,Maine this past saturday. I had seen an add
on T.V. advertising hand fed babies and thought that I would check
it out. I've decided to go for the extra expense of hand-fed becau-
se of the immediate benefits. The owner of the store knew me from
some previous experience with my cockateils and allowed me to play
with all of the birds....what an experience!!! He has hand-fed Mex-
ican Red Heads,Blue and Gold Macaw, congo Grey, double yellow heads,
sun conures, cut throat conures, severe macaw, blue front, etc. I
had a great time but was a little overwhelmed by the prices...
All the birds were in the $ 1000.00 or over range..I don't know
if that is the going price but somehow felt that it would be cheaper
to look in the New Hampshire/Massachusetts area. It's really tough
to find hand-fed birds up here in Maine but I'm hoping that the
Birds USA annual will list some breeder's in the area or at least
close by... At any rate- Twin City does have one Hand fed Grey baby
for sale and it's not too far from N.H. Hope this helps.

| Another place in which to purchase African Grey Handfed babies is
Paw Prints Pet Shop in Salem N.H. I believe they are going for
$900.00. Paw Prints also has other birds and supplies at very
reasonable prices.
Good Luck!
Denise.
P.S. Stardust Aviary is a good source as well. Marty Letourneau
is the proprietor and is the president of Birds of A Feather
avicultural society of Hampton N.H.
Another place worth looking into if you are looking for a good
price is Blue Ribbon Pet Farm in Homestead Florida. I bought my
Yellow Nape baby there, sight unseen and got a very healthy, tame
baby. He came with a health guarantee which is rare when purchasing
a bird from a great distance. He was talking when I got him and
hasn't stopped since. The people at Blue Ribbon are very helpful
as well. I highly recommend them based on my good luck there.
They advertise in Bird Talk.
