I jusst vissited the Grand opening of a new pet store in Fitchburg. The name is Parkhill Pets and was formerly at different location as West End Pets. It is in the Parkhill plaza, in the Cleghorn section on Electric Ave. I saw some birds there I had not seen in the store before: some kind of finch called a persian ruffle. it is white witha skirt of ruffled feathers. Hunchback finches. A red Lory for around $350 A crimson Rosella for around $350 They had Grey cheeked parakeets for $149 which I guess is a real good price. They also had a real nice color selection of baby budgies for $9 each! He said they were 6-7 weeks and they really looked it. The owner was there and seemed to be personable and well informed. Doug I was not looking for a bird but thought I would share my findings.

Hi Doug! Why haven't you called me!!!??? Or send mail!! Gee Wizz buddy! 8^} Anyway....Tom told me you called about the new store! It sounds like that hunch back finch is a Belgian Canary...Very rare bird. Could be that it is no longer useful for breeding and got sent to the store. Not uncommon at all. Remember what the price was??? These birds, breeder prices, are relatevly expensive. The fancy skirts are also on "Fancy Canaries" called "Frills". Depending on what they get fed...you can change their colors too! $149 for gray cheeks....Gee, that's great! If's he's selling baby parakeets for $9 ea, is he raising them at home? Or is he importing them in huge lots? That's wicked low prices for a store! That's what I sell my parent raised babies for! Sounds like you found a great store Doug! How about food supplies? Was there a lot to choose from there? Well gotta hit the bricks! Talk to ya soon!@ 8^} Jean - Buddy's Grandmother! |
