I was given a pair of finches as a Christmas gift. I have never had birds before and would like any information about them. Also I need to know what kind of cages are best for them and good places in the Maynard area to buy a cage because the one they are in is to small.

As far as cages go......I would reccommend the Fish Nook located in Acton on Route 2A. They have a very good selection of cages and books that you will find helpful. The staff is also very knowledgable on a wide variety of birds. Hope you will enjoy your living gift. Jim Buccieri | |||||

HI! What kind of finches do you have? Your cage should be large enough for them to fly freely. Larger birds need exercise, but can do so standing on perches, and are frequently let out of cages...Finches however, need lots and lots of room to exercise their flight muscles! I breed finches! Please feel free to call me at the aviary evenings at 603/880-8984! I am always available to help!!! If you'd rather send mail, well, you can send it on this node, but I have to share an account for now! Congratulations on your new family!!! Jean Hutchins |
