<Parrots on the loose.> Last week my parents informed me that they had sighted a pair of parrots flying in and out of my fathers garden. Evidently they must have escaped from somewhere. Or did they? I know very little about parrots and all I know about these two are that they are light green and about the size of robins. I need some help in knowing if they could survive the winter here in Colorado Springs. One pet shop I called felt that they could but in my limited knowledge I have my doubts. If they can, how can I help to keep them alive? If they can't, how could I go about trying to catch them? Thanks for your time, Paul

Hi Paul! If these are quaker parakeets, they just may survive...that's why they are illegal in so many states. The best thing to do is to set up a cage, in the garden and fill it with sunflower seeds and the things that parrots like....the birds may equate the cage to home and go inside...if they do...you have yourself a new set of birds!!! Gee, let us know what happens! J | |||||
